Apart from the financial saving that could be made, one of my major issues was the smell in the pan room. Since using the Otek system the smell has disappeared and the staff no longer mind using the pan room Our washing is cleaner fresher and brighter. We are washing everything now including curtains, which we used to send to a laundry. That is a saving on the curtains alone of about $10,000.00 a year. We have no shrinkage, which used to be a problem and the washing comes out less wrinkled. The other big saving is in staff hours. The laundry has become more efficient and all the staff are happy with the results and everything is running like clockwork. Letitia Quirk - Don

Re: Ozone in the Laundry The Linen seems much brighter and we no longer have to spray the collars before washing. We have saved on cycle times, drying times and using cold-water means we are saving on energy as well. We were about to buy a new boiler but we no longer have to rely on the boiler so that represents a saving. In general we have without a doubt achieved considerable savings. Russell Bressington

Ashfield Baptist Homes Limited

Ashfield Baptist Homes Limited

Ashfield Baptist Homes trialled OTEK, the ozone based laundry system in February 2008 and moved to the system in March 2008. We have found many advantages in using the new system. As well as using fewer staff hours in the laundry, we are now using a lot less water and because the system uses cold water, our power use is also down. As well, the linen coming out of the laundry is a lot softer than the previous system and has a cleaner appearance, which our residents like. And because the ozone system uses less chemicals it is a better option for the environment. We are pleased with the system and are glad we made the change. Paul Holding

Post House Motor Lodge

"What is important to me is that we are getting such great savings from using ozone. And even though we have reduced our energy, water and chemical consumption, and we're doing the washing quicker, the quality of the results has actually improved. The towels are softer and the sheets are brighter. The girls making the beds have noticed the difference and asked if we have changed chemicals or bought new linen! Our laundry lady was against using ozone at first but now she loves it."

Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School

“We don’t need to pre-soak blood stained items anymore before washing. There is no more static on the clothes after drying so we don’t get zapped anymore. The clothes are brighter and softer and best of all the washing is getting done faster.”

RBD Keperra Sanctuary Hostel

"The best thing about ozone is that we have been able to stop using hazardous chemicals for disinfection. We have also been able to reduce the washing powder in half. Carers have noticed the considerable improvement in the wash results. Lend Lease the owners of the hostel were impressed that the hazardous chemicals were no longer needed and they were happy that the costs for the provision of ozone would be recovered in such a short time."

Sutherland Laundry

"We are saving a lot of money just by washing in cold water and ozone and a small amount of detergent. Our water and energy bills have reduced and we no longer have to pour fragrance into the laundry machine to deodorise the linen, as the OTEK system leaves everything with a clean fresh smell."
